Post 10…Something I’m afraid of

So this post is actually pretty easy. I know my fears very well….I encounter them almost on a daily basis!

My biggest fear is storms! I HATE storms! If it’s just raining, I’m okay. But when the thunder, lightening, and wind kick in….I get so scared that I have panic attacks. Literally! I would rather have snow and ice than storms any day!

Another fear, the dark. I’m not scared of the dark, per se. More of what could be in the dark! From spiders, to mass murders. Yes, I sleep with a light on, I can’t go to sleep until I know every door is locked tight. Even my bedroom door is locked!

The fact that I am claustrophobic doesn’t help matters either. I hate small spaces, and complete darkness makes me feel as if I am in a small space.

Another thing I am afraid of, death. I know where I am going when I die. That’s not the problem. I’m afraid of what I might miss out on when I die…example: my kids graduating school, getting married, having kids of their own! I’m also afraid of losing someone very close to me.

Oh and another thing I’m afraid of…bugs. I HATE bugs!! Anything that is nasty crawly gross….hate!! From flies to spiders. Even those grand daddy long legs…yeah, hate those too!

So what are you afraid of??

Exhaustion…

Oh my…it’s been crazy around the house here lately! We’ve been to both of Hubby’s Christmas parties this month, and as much fun as I have had in the past at the big one, this years wasn’t that much fun. I think it was the lack of games.

We did the song game (i.e. IDOAWC- I’m Dreaming Of A White Christmas), we also did a “How Well Do You Know Your Co-Workers” game (which the most fun part of that was Hubby was the answer to one of the questions!), and a trivia game about the founder of the company.

The place where the party was held is a beautiful resort here in town, so props to them for that! And the food the resort did was pretty good too!

The other work party he had was just the management team and their spouses. We had it at a local Mexican restaurant and that one kept me pretty entertained and laughing!!

The town held it’s annual Christmas parade, fireworks show, and lighting of the parks Christmas lights. The kids liked everything but the fireworks…but that might have been because we sat right under where they were exploding!!

For gifts this year, for the family and family friends, I made some cookie platters.  It’s saved on money, that’s for sure. Saturday evening we had dinner with Hubby’s grandparents, two of his brothers and one of his sisters. We had a nice time, except for the fact that Bubba had been sick all morning! He seemed to be doing better that evening, but got sick at dinner.

Yesterday everything was normal. We went to church, then out to eat, and then yesterday evening we went to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law’s house to hang out for a while. We got home and into bed about 10 o’clock.

At 230 this morning, I woke up to Sissy throwing up! She threw up about every 15 minutes until about 630 this morning. We finally got to sleep, and slept until 9am. I thought things were better, until about 20 minutes ago, when she threw up the water she had been drinking!

As much as it stinks to have the bug in our house, I’m glad that it’s hitting BEFORE Christmas instead of AT Christmas!!! Here’s hoping we, and you, don’t get it!!

Post Nine…My Friends

Oh my. This is another hard one because I have SO many friends. Including best friends…there are 6 wonderful ladies in my life that I consider my best friends. But there are many more that I call friends.

I don’t have a picture of all of them, one of these days…maybe since it’s the holidays I can…I want to get a picture with each one of them.

Besties!

The three of us are all best friends. We all rely on each other in times of need. Whether it be for support, venting, or just some good fun, we are there for one another.

A.H. and I have been besties since the 5th grade. We’ve had our ups and downs, we’ve even went as long as 4 months without seeing or speaking to each other. But once we do speak, it’s like we pick up right where we left off.

R.B. and I met when her husband came to work with Hubby. Her and I just clicked. We have a lot of things in common…our husbands being a lot alike is one of them!

L.R. and I met when we worked together at a local pharmacy. She and I have a friendship that keeps us, and our husbands, laughing! We once went to WM and tried on hats for fun!! It’s still one of my favorite memories with her!

A.W. is my brother in law’s wife. It’s taken a few years for us to become as close as we are, but I wouldn’t change it for the world! We have so much in common, that it’s scary sometimes. We can talk for HOURS about nothing in particular and never get bored of it! We, at least I, have tons of fun when we get together. There’s never a dull moment, and she probably knows more about me than anyone…except A.H. who knows more about me than I know about myself!! A.W. and I started as sister in law’s but haven’t ended up as friends…one that I consider a best friend.

I’m not sure all these ladies feel like they can call me a best friend too, but I know that if I ever needed anything, any one of them would be there for me in a heartbeat! And I would do the same for anyone of them!!!

Post Eight….A Place I’ve Traveled To

Not long after Hubby and I got together, a series of events led us to taking a road trip to Salt Lake City, UT. While that trip was a spur of the moment and short lived it was oddly enough, fun.

We found out we needed to go up there to retrieve a car. We told our bosses, who were expecting the call as much as we were, that we needed some time off to go get it. We left the next morning.

We left AR in the middle of spring, so it was fairly warm. Warm enough to be wearing shorts and t-shirts. We drove up AR, up halfway through MS then over to KS. By then, we were in need of gas. Hubby pulled into a gas station, and realized that the wind in KS, was quite, well, windy. Apparently the lack of trees and mountains makes for a lack of a wind barrier.

We went on, making it to CO, which by the way, is BEAUTIFUL!!! I told Hubby that one day, when we had more than just drive time, I wanted to actually take a vacation to CO. When we stopped to fill up again, Hubby, who was still in shorts and a t-shirt, about froze! In fact, he tried to wash the windshield from all the snow and ice, only for the water to automatically freeze on it. It was THAT cold!

We kept driving but after a while, we decided it was time to pull into a motel and sleep for the night. It was what people call a “roach motel”. It was THAT bad!!

Ten minutes after being back on the road the next morning, we drove through Steamboat Springs, CO. We were kicking ourselves!!!

So we made it to SLC, got the car, then headed towards home, going south this time. We stopped right outside of the Utah border to sleep for the night. The next morning, we woke up and headed to the only stop I wanted to make on this whirlwind trip…the Four Corners. After that, we headed home…without stopping…until we got to Poteau, OK, which was only an hour from home, but we were exhausted!! We spent the night (well, actually we got there at like 3am and slept until like 4pm) at my brothers house. We then headed home, where we went back to bed, and then to work the next day!

So yes, if you think about it, we drove to SLC and back in 3 days, but it was a great 3 days! It really cemented Hubby and my relationship with one another!!

Post Seven…Favorite Movies

So it’s so stinking hard for me to pick just one movie as my favorite. I love quite a few. Okay, a lot!

Here is just a few of the ones I love!!

It’s SO hard to choose between all these as my number one. I love them all. But my all time favorite, the one that I could watch every day for the rest of my life is:

Reese Witherspoon in this is fabulous! Of course, I love her in just about every movie! Of course, I haven’t watched EVERY movie she has been in…one day, though, one day!

I’ve been putting off posting this one because I wanted to do a big give-away for you guys to celebrate both! But I’ve got to catch up on my “Post ‘Numbers’”  and my life in general. Right? I mean you do care, right?

Anyways.

I still don’t have what I want to do for a give-away together, but it will be coming…so watch for it! I promise, I’ll make it good!!
