OMG!!

OMG!!!
*
I don't think I have ever said that...until today....starting about 45 minutes ago!! And I believe that I have said it about 100 times since then!!
*
I got a phone call from one of friends asking if I knew of any good photographers for her daughter's wedding. As I was thinking about it, she interrupted me with a question which not only took me by surprised, but left me speechless...I know, I know. ME? Speechless?? Her question? "So I take it you wouldn't want to do it?!?!?"
*
In true Hannah Montana (yes, we watch that!) fashion...Say What?!?!?
*
-Me: Are you serious? You want me to do it?
-DS: Well, yeah, but by the way you didn't catch on to that "good" photographer part, I don't know if I want you to now! Haha"
-Me: Well, I didn't realize that you thought I was "good" enough...especially not to do her wedding!"
-DS: Yeah I do! Would you?
-Me: Sure...if your sure.
-DS: Yes, I'm sure.
-Me: Then okay!
*
OMG!!!!
*
This will not only be my first wedding shoot, but my first paid shoot! I am SOOOO stinking nervous!!!
*
Oh and to make it worse...it's July 18th! Yes, the day that I just quit stressing about a few days ago. The day that I was starting to stress about again. The day of Bubba's birthday party! His party was planned at 2pm-5pm. The wedding is at 630pm that evening. I do believe that I am going to have to move the party time to 10am-1pm.
*
Oh what a time to have a party! But I think that it would be better for me to be at the wedding a few hours before it started to get pictures of them getting ready, as opposed to one hour before and try and rush around getting everything they wanted!
*
OMG!!!!!
*
Now, on top of birthday party stress, I have wedding shoot stress, AND my MIL will more than likely be in that evening. It's going to be a looong day!
*
Wish me lots of luck...Lord knows I am going to need it!!

Problem Child

My sister-in-law is the Nursery Director at our church. As a Committee Member and a Volunteer, I have certain obligations to fulfill. One of them is to help in a room on the Lord's Supper Nights every so often. I still get to partake in it in the classroom, as long as I have the time to right my heart before-hand. As a volunteer, if we have a child that acts up...to where we have to discipline them (place them in time-out), we have to tell the Director (my SIL) before informing the parent.
*
Last night was one of those nights. We had a child that was a little rambunctious. Later that evening, after I got home, I called her. This was our conversation:
*
-Me: "SIL", we had a problem child tonight.
-SIL: Okay, what happened?
-Me: Well...she was pushing kids, yelling at them, taking toys away from them.
-SIL: Oh no.
-Me: Yeah, I had to sit her in the corner 3 times.
-SIL: Oh man!
-Me: Yeah, it got so bad that I almost spanked her little bo-bo. (Which btw, we would NEVER EVER do!!)
-SIL: Ummm....okay.
-Me: Yeah, it was pretty bad!
-SIL: Well, who was it?
-Me: "Sissy"
-SIL: HAHAHA!!! Oh Shauna! Your so funny!!
-Me: No, I'm serious, "SIL", she was really bad!!!
*
Yes, MY child was the problem child last night!! I asked the lady that is in there all the time with them if she was always like this. She said no, that it was just when I was in there that she acted like that! Are you kidding me? I would think that my child would be less likely to act up when I was in there, for fear of the ramifications! Nope...just the opposite!
*
SIL told me that the nights I worked, she would move me out of there. It would be so bad, but I was having to spend the majority of the time getting on to her, putting her in time out, or calming her down because I was paying another child attention! She was acting like she was the only child at home...which, of course, she is not!
*
It's also amazing that she does NOT act that way at home...I don't know what her deal is when we are at church! UGH!!

Stress Be Gone!

I am so excited to say that I am no longer stressed over Bubba's 1st Birthday, that is less than 3 weeks away!
*
Hubby and I had a conversation about the destination of the party. This is how it went...
-Me: So I was thinking that we could have a swim party for Bubba's birthday, either at the pool or Mom's house.
*
-Hubby: Let's just do it at your mom's.
-Me: But if we have it there, there is going to be a lot of people that aren't going to go.
-Hubby: And?
-Me: That means most, if not all, of your family, will NOT be there!
-Hubby: And?
-Me: Okay?!? I just don't want anyone to be upset with us.
-Hubby: Bubba loves to swim. Let's give him a swim party. If people don't want to go, then so be it! It's Bubba's birthday, not theirs!
*
That made me feel a LOT better. His family being there, or not being as the case more than likely will be, was what bothered me. Yes, I would love for them to be there to celebrate his 1st Birthday, but if it's just because it will be 30 minutes away, well, sorry!
*
As for the theme, when I called my mom yesterday to ask her about using her house and pool for the party, she asked if I had got a theme for it yet. I told her that I was just going to go with the cheap generic "Happy Birthday" stuff they have at Wal-Mart. She asked me about Cars. What about it? She said that she has some Cars stuff left over from what she thinks was my little sister's birthday party years ago. That all I would have to buy is some plates and party favors...of course the food too.
*
That's just kick awesome!! Now I am more excited about his party then stressing about it! Of course in the week before it, you can bet that I will be on here again, stressing about this or that...

Sissy's 1st Date!

This is my third post of the day..but this is a good one! Promise!!
*
Sissy went on her first date tonight!!
*
Of course, her handsome date was her daddy, but it was a date none-the-less. They went to watch Transformers 2. Hubby said that it was too long for her though. About half-way through, she started getting restless and not minding. I'm sure the other movie-goers were real excited about a 2 1/2 year old little girl being obnxious, but her and Daddy did have fun!
*
What did Bubba and I do during the date? We went to church then grabbed McDonalds for supper on the way home. We got home, and he went right to bed...Little Man was tiiirred!!
*
And guess what?!?! I REMEMBERED TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE CUTE COUPLE....plus some of Bubba. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!!

Who's party is it?

I am a people pleaser. I HATE confrontation. I know, I know, who REALLY likes it. But I hate it to the point where I see both sides to every situation. Even when I am the one doing the arguing! It's annoying sometimes...I feel like Sweden, they're the ones that stay neutral, right?
Anyways, I have to start worrying about just pleasing a handful of people...God, myself, my husband (sometimes) and my kids (sometimes). As for everyone else...well, if you're happy good, if not, sorry!
You see, I have been stressing about both Bubba and Sissy's birthday parties since, well, they were born! Where can we have it so that people will go, we can invite everyone so no one feels left out, and so that everyone will fit...my house is not big enough to hold a large crowd, at all!!
Bubba's birthday is in 3 weeks...and I have yet to start planning anything because I have no idea where to have it at. I would love to have a pool party...Bubba LOVES to swim, but we don't have a pool. My parent's have one, but they live 30 minutes from here...not sure Hubby's family would drive that far to go. We could have it at the local public pool, but would anyone want to attend.
I mean, really, is it their party or my son's?!?! Exactly...so what should it matter! As long as he has fun, it shouldn't!
As for Sissy's, her birthday is in October, and I have decided that we are going to have a small party at our house. Family and a small handful of friends. Of course, that will probably change when the time gets closer.
Yep, I try to please way to many people!

A Giveaway from Footballs and Crowns

Footballs and Crowns is having a giveaway! I'm all about giveaways, but this one I absolutely adore! I love these little boxes, so very cute! Sissy doesn't own a jewelry box or anything, and what little girl doesn't need one? So this would be awesome for her to keep her stuff in, she doesn't own ANY jewelry yet either...is that wrong? Anyways, go check out Footballs and Crowns blog and enter to win a box of your choice! Good Luck!

Camera? What camera?

As I mentioned before, this past weekend was busy! The busiest I have been in a long time!
*
SaturDay the kids and I attended a birthday party for one of my friend's, ALH, little girl. She turned 3, Friday! I forgot to take my camera, so I had to steal borrow a couple of pictures from her sister's FB page!

(Bubba chilling at the party)

*
As we were unloading at home after the party, my BF, LMR, and her hubby,BR, pulled up to hang out with us. They are both in their last year of pharmacy school in LR so we don't get to see them very much. They are planning to move back here after they graduate school though..so I will get to see them more! We got to hang out for a couple of hours, then I had to load the kids back in the car, and take them to stay with my cousins and aunt while I attended Hubby's cousin's Bachelorette Party!!
*
We had SOOOO much fun!! I have not laughed that hard in forever. Of course, I have problems sometimes with the whole "not thinking before I talk" syndrome...and that set off a whole chain of laughter, that made everyone cry! We played a couple of funny as heck games, and got one on video. I didn't take my camera to that party either, though...what the heck!
*
Sunday, Father's Day, Hubby was off of work. So we got to spend ALL.DAY with him! That morning we got ready and went to church with his family. Then we headed down south to eat lunch with my grandpa and most of my family. (My parents and sisters are still gone to the beach!) I did take my camera down there, but forgot I had brought, so I didn't take any pictures AND I left it there! UGH..what is my deal?!?!?
*
After we left Pop's house, we came home so that Bubba could take a short nap, and Hubby could wash his car. Then we walked up the hill to our neighbor's house, to visit their daughter, son-in-law, and grand kids...their son-in-law, JM, is Hubby's BFF. Still no camera!
*
Then we had to be at Hubby's dad's house for dinner with the family. It was actually us, his dad, step-mom, both sisters, one brother, (Hubby's the oldest of 6 kids-2 sisters and 3 brothers), and then his step-mom's family. She had her parent's one of her brothers, 2 of her sisters, and 2 nephews there (she has another brother and sister that were not there). We had a lot fun there too! His dad is a nut, and always has us laughing and entertained...yes, it runs in the family!! LOL. And NO, I still didn't have my camera!!
*
Today, Hubby has to work late, so the kids and I are going to go down to my parent's house and clean a little bit while they are gone. No, I am not that sweet! I had to borrow some money from them, but Mom just told me to go clean the house while they were gone, and she would pay me in advance for it. So I'm going down today to work on it a little bit, then we will go down tomorrow when Hubby is off work again, to clean some more, and swim. Hubby will probably go fishing. I MAY remember my camera tomorrow once I get it back...but we will see!

Kids say the darndest things

I just had to post this before I forgot:

Sissy made this little Bible stories book at church a couple of weeks ago. She calls it her Bible. Well this morning she laid it down, in Bubba's reach, so he grabbed it. She threw a fit, screaming and yelling at him, "My Bible, Bubba! Let Go! Give me my Bible!! Give it to ME!!!" All while he still has a huge grip on it, yelling back at her. She finally gets it from him and tells him, "Tank You" so very calmly. He's still screaming because she took it away. She's standing beside him, and he's crying...looks at the book, looks at her, looks at the book, looks back at her and hits her! LOL!
*
Yes, it's cute now, because she's not even three yet, and he's almost 1!! In a few years, it's probably not going to be so cute! Shortly after that happened, Sissy was standing behind him by the couch, and he leans back on her, just smiling. She kisses him on the forehead, he turns around and kisses her right back! See, they do love each other!!
*
Yesterday, we took the kids to my parents house so that they could swim and Hubby could go fishing. It turned out a lot different than what I anticipated. Sissy is usually the one that loves the water and going swimming. Bubba, on the other hand, is the one that doesn't like the water..if it is colder than his bath water. So I was very much surprised when the roles were switched. Sissy clung to me, screaming at the top of her lungs, the whole time she was in there. I put Bubba in a Baby Float and he floated around the pool just chilling. He even figured out that if he kicked his legs, he could make it around the pool quicker! I wish I would have had my camera...but I wouldn't have been able to handle both kids and my camera by myself! Sissy sat on the pool ladder and just watched us. She would kick her feet in the water a few times, but refused to get back in with us. Darn her!
*
My parent's are leaving today, probably as I type this, to go to the beach. My sisters are going with them...my sister, W, and her family, my sister, J, and her family, and then my little sister, C. They are going to have so much fun! We would have loved to go with them, but there would have been no way. Hubby just took a vacation last month, and he's taking another one at the end of July when his mom comes in from Florida!! I'm hoping that next year the kids will be old enough to take them down there. Maybe...
*
My weekend is going to be long and busy, I am hoping to remember to take pictures. We will see if I remember my camera!! LOL

What kind of mother....?

Have you ever met a "lazy" mom?
You know the ones that have a kid, who is almost 3 and still wears a diaper because the mom is too lazy to work with them when it comes to potty training?
Or maybe the one that has a baby that is about to be 1 and yet still has a bottle about 4 times a day because the mom is too lazy to sit down and feed the child?
Yeah, me either!
Sissy still wears diapers because it's a fashion staple. I mean really, her pants would fall down to her ankles if it wasn't for the bulge from the diaper.
And Bubba, well he still gets a bottle because I am just so BUSY to sit down and feed him. Between, keeping the house clean, and chasing the both of them around...it's a job in itself.
*
"Really?" you ask...no not really. I AM that lazy mom!!
But I have some excuses:
Sissy isn't potty trained because she refuses. I try and work with her, but she just yells and screams at me about. She will go every so often, but it's more of a battle..that I am NOT willing to fight with her over. In my own opinion, I think it would be harder to train her, fighting with her, than if we waited until she was ready.
As for Bubba and the bottle..well, I actually just realized today that he will be a year old a month from yesterday AND he's still on the bottle. With Sissy, we broke her from hers cold turkey. Really! She went for her 9 month check-up at about 10 months and the doctor told me that he would like to see her broke from it by a year. So that night, we went home and she hasn't had one since! Poor child was a trooper. She had to have withdrawals from it, but never showed it!
*
I can't believe that these are things that could be easily taken care of, if I just applied myself. I spend most of my time on the computer, watching TV, cleaning house, cooking breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks, and playing with the kids. I tend to neglect the fact that my daughter, who will be 3 in October, still wears a diaper and that my son, who will be 1 next month, still has a bottle.
*
What kind of mother am I?
The kind that loves my children more than the thoughts and feelings of the rest of the world!

Livin' on a Prayer

I sooo had this awesome idea for a post, but can you believe that I actually forgot what it was about?? Well, believe it!
*
I have had so much going on this past week, that it totally slipped my mind. So I will just do what comes naturally....ramble blog on-and-on about something you probably care less about.
***
I have been praying, as well as most of my family and church family, about getting Hubby in church. When he has a Sunday off, which is hardly ever, we do usually go...but we go to his family's church. It wouldn't be so bad, but I NEVER get anything out of going there. I spend most of my time chasing kids around the small, mostly family or close to it, country church. They really don't have a preacher, at least not one that is there EVERY Sunday, so the deacons read straight from the Bible...I mean verbatim! Maybe I am just spoiled by my home church. Where the kids go to the nursery, and I can focus all my attention on the Preacher and God's Word. That and I love everyone, almost, there! They are my family!!
*
Anyways, back to praying for Hubby...I don't know if it is quite working yet, he shows no change in wanting to join us, but I'm not giving up. And neither is Sissy! This past Sunday evening, we were leaving to go to the church so that I could help the Drama Ministry Team, Hubby thought he was going golfing, and the kids, of course, were going to be in the nursery. Sissy was asking begging for Hubby to come with us. Of course, I knew there was no point in it, church wasn't even going on. I'm hoping that the next time he has the day off, he will go with us to our church. *crossing fingers*
*
Tuesday evening, my cousin K, came over to sit with the kiddos while Hubby and I went on a movie date. We went and watched Terminator: Salvation. It would have been better, I think, if we would have watched it in a theater better than our rinky dink one here in town. In fact, it was not a fun experience...figures since it was the first "date" Hubby and I have had in quite sometime. The couple behind us had about 5 kids with them, who I could hear whispering more than the movie. One of the kids made some noise right in my ear..literally..that I thought he was about to puke all over me. Hubby and I did know the mom though, so we just sat and dealt with it. There was another couple, an older couple, that sat to the right of us one row up, that kept talking during parts like they were at home. I mean the man was repeating things that he thought was funny, the lady was screaming during parts then had to explain why she screamed. And then to top it all off, when there was about 30-45 minutes left of the movie, it messed up and went off!! We had to wait for about 15 minutes for them to fix it and get it back up and running!
*
Wednesday nights, as I had mentioned before, I help with the 4th and 5th graders. I am in charge of snacks and activities...I sure hope that gets better. I have got to figure something out, because it was waaay to stressful and unorganized. Of course, it doesn't help that it was my first time doing something like that and I was a little nervous. When we had 5th and 6th graders, I lead the singing..so the kids didn't have to really "listen" to me. Now they do!! I am hoping it gets better though, I just keep praying about it.
*
Yesterday the kids and I went and got Hubby's paycheck, payed bills, and bought groceries. Not a big deal normally, but we were out of EVERYTHING at the house. From toilet paper and toothpaste to milk and bread. That adds up! A lot!
*
Today the kids and I are taking it easy. Tomorrow I have Hubby's cousin's bridal shower to attend. I am looking forward to that!! I will meet her future sister-in-law, who I have be-friended through Facebook and on blogger, for the first time! I have realized that a few of the people that I have be-friended not only on here, but on Facebook as well, I haven't actually met. That wouldn't be so odd, except that we either live in the same town/county (whole county is smaller than the city of Little Rock!), you used to live here, or you were even good friends with Hubby's family...KIM!
*
Kim lives here, teaches school at my Alma Mater (elementary), and used to be good friends with my sister-in-law. Yet, we haven't actually met face to face...what's up with that?!?! One day, Kim, one day!
*
Anyways, I better get off here. The kids are hungry, I'm hungry, and Aunt Flo decided to make her visit yesterday, which means I'm in pain today! Whew...I haven't even done anything and I am already tired!!!

Am I that boring?!?!

I have come to realize that I lead a pretty boring life. I have not had a post since the 1st of June...and it's because nothing worth blogging about happened. Well not really anyways.
*
We did take attempted to take the kids fishing this past Tuesday. We went three different places to no avail. The first place we went, the water was too low. The second place we went, the only place we could get close enough to the water for Hubby to even be able to cast was the boat drop-off. And all he caught was a bunch of moss and weeds! The third place we went, he actually was able to get far enough out, but the fish weren't biting.
*
I was able remembered to take my camera and got some cute pictures of the kids...in the car. We let Sissy out so she could play in the water, but Bubba doesn't like water if it's colder than his bath water. We had his little Horsey Jumper Seat and let him play in it.

(The kids before leaving the house...I don't have a clue as to why both of them had their fingers in their mouths!)

(My pretty princess)

(Bubba's new pose!)

*

Wednesday night was the first night with our new group at church. Instead of 5th and 6th graders we have 4th and 5th graders. They also went ahead and moved up, so it's actually the kids that are going INTO the 4th and 5th grades now. So we don't have even 1/2 of our group anymore. It's all new kids. It's going to take some getting used to for us, and the kids.
*
Today Hubby was off work, and the local festival that is held the first weekend of June every year started today. So we took the kids and checked it out. It was okay, but a lot of the contest and stuff that we like start on Saturday. We really wanted to check out the Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show, but it starts tomorrow!
*
They also have a baby crawling contest, and we thought about entering Bubba..thing is, he refuses to crawl anymore! He will crawl to some place where he can pull himself up, then he wants to walk. My baby is growing up!!

(Bubba-Man walking from Dad to Mom!!)

*

(This is a pose that Sissy picked up while at my niece's dance recital a few weeks ago! So cute!)

*
And yes! I do know that in the last two pictures both my kids are just in their diapers, but it's bedtime, and that's how they sleep during the summer!! So back -off all you haters!! :)
*
I'm hoping that my weekend is not as boring as the past ones have been. Of course, when your broke, there's not much you can do!

Series of Uneventful Events

Have you missed me? Probably not... I'll kinda catch you up, on my UN eventful weekend.
*
This past Thursday, May 28th, we took the Zone 56ers and the youth to Magic Springs for the day. We, the Zone 56 crew, had about 25 kids...and 5 chaperones. My brother and SIL took a group of about 7 kids, our director took a group of 12...don't know why he put himself thru that, and myself and another wonderful lady took a group of 6 girls. I think we had the most fun...actually out of all the chaperones, I think we are the only ones that had fun! Our group of girls were awesome! They weren't dragging us everywhere, or whining, of fighting about were to go, in fact I think we, the chaperones, were dragging them from ride to ride! LOL!! I connected with our group of girls, and it saddens me that I didn't get a chance to do that before now...their last time with us! Our church decided to change it from Zone 56 (5th and 6th graders) to C45 (4th and 5th graders). So, we get a whole new group of kids!
*
Friday and Saturday, were pretty uneventful. The kids and I sat around the house, and didn' t do a thing!!
*
Sunday, yesterday, was church. Last night, we were supposed to have drama rehearsal, but we only had 4 kids there. I'm guessing since it was the Lord's Supper night, alot of them thought we weren't having practice, darn kids!! LOL I'm stressing a little over this drama thing right now, so please pray for me. Last night, I also agreed to teach the Preschool class in VBS. I am was soooo looking forward to that. Until I realized this morning that I the same time we are have VBS, is the same week that my MIL is coming in from Florida to spend their week of vacation here. :(
*
I'm going to have to do a LOT of praying on this one. I would love to do VBS, but I would also love to see my in-laws. Sounds weird? It's not...I love my in-laws! My mother-in-law has 3 boys and 1 girl. The daughter and her are not that close. My MIL treats me like her own daughter, always has. In fact Hubby and his youngest brother, who's only a month younger than me, always jokes that she loves me more than them!! And she tells everyone that if, Lord forbid, anything ever happened between Hubby and I, they were trading him in! That they would keep me, and quit talking to him. HAHA
*
Today I get to see my former pastor's wife. They moved to OK from here so that he could preach at another church about 7-8 years ago. It was hard on me for them to leave. Her and I were/are really close. I talked to her about a lot of different things. Since she left, I have only talked to her a little bit over Facebook and such. I'm excited to see her...she hasn't met the kids yet, either or them. So it will be nice. I will try and remember my camera to take lots of pictures!!
