It's been nice..

Hubby had to return to work after 9 days off for vacation. It was sooo nice to have him home for more than a day. We actually got to spend time together!! Usually we just sit around the house doing nothing, because he is so tired and exhausted from working 55 hours a week. Who can blame him?!?!
*
He started his vacation last Saturday and went back yesterday, Monday. We didn't go anywhere special, but just being together was special enough.
*
His aunt, L, and 12 year old cousin, C, came in this past weekend. Sissy *ADORES* C! C can make Sissy laugh at pretty much anything, and she follows her EVERYWHERE!!! I had asked L when C was on Spring Break, and it turns out that it was this week. L has to work this week, so C would have been at home with L's BF who C does not get along with. So I, without running it past Hubby, asked if she would like to stay with us for the week.
*
Of course, she said yes and thankfully, Hubby didn't get upset with me. He has the same idea as I did.....Sissy will *LOVE* it!! And she does. She doesn't want anything to do with us, which is sometimes nice, and she has so much fun with C.
*
Being at home you would think that I could give Sissy as much attention as she wants, but not so with a demanding 8 month old. He's not bad, most of the time. But when he wants something....he wants it right then!! (Example: He's screaming right now, because I'm not cuddling with him.) With C here, she gets as much attention as she could possibly want.
Which also means that when it's bedtime or night time, she goes to sleep quite easily. (As long as I can keep her away from C long enough! LOL)
*
Well, I better get to attending Bubba before he goes into a full blown conniption!!

8 Months Old!!

So it's not a BIG day, but it's a "day" none the less. My little man is 8 months old exactly today. I know it's not a monumental time in his life, but I like looking back at what he looked like then compared to now. He looks soooo much different, and a LOT bigger! LOL

23 1/2 weeks prego with Bubba

Bubba the day he was born. He weighed 7 lbs 12 oz 21 in long.

This was taken 2 days ago. (He scratched himself right about his left eye with his fingernail.)He now weighs over 22 lbs and is a little chunk!! LOL

*

I realized the other day that he is now closer to a year old than a newborn...wow!

Whew!!

Hubby's vacation has been going pretty good. We haven't went anywhere, but we have been busy still!
*
I do believe that we have been to Wal-Mart atleast twice every. single. day. this week! Sunday was, as always, my busy day. We got up, went to church, had a luncheon meeting afterwards, got home, and as Bubba and I were watching TV, it went out! This is the new TV that we bought less than 3 weeks ago!! Hubby went to replace it, then I had to go back to church for my Hope Group.
*
I really think that I am going to like this group. If you are wondering, Hope Groups is a new thing that our church, DABC, is doing now instead of Sunday night services. We have been broken up into groups of no more than 13 people and basically study and discuss what the morning service was about. We invite people to come join us for Hope Groups in hopes that they will continue to come, become saved(if not already), and starting joining us for other worship services. If you would like to join us, please let me know...I would love for you to come!!
*
In other thoughts this evening, my dad called me this morning and wanted me to go down and clean their house today. He was having some people to come look at their farm this afternoon, and needed it cleaned. Bad! So Hubby and I took the kiddos down there and we cleaned. And cleaned, and cleaned, and...well you get the idea. Thankfully it only took us 4 hours to do...of course that's all the time we had before the people came to look at it.
*
I also learned in the past few days, that apparently as happy and grateful as I was for Hubby helping me with my project, the Razorback ribbon board, a week or so ago, it wasn't very manly. He has been catching some MAJOR smack for it. I feel really bad about it, but don't think that it makes him any less of a man because he helped me out did it for me.
*
He is a very creative MAN that can pretty much make something out of nothing. I was impressed and wanted to share it with you guys. Now I have been told not to write anything about things he does. (We'll see if I listen...) Sorry Hubby, I'll start taking credit for certain things like that!!

Enjoying the Beautful Day

Today was such a beautiful day! It was so nice to be able to get the kids out and let them play for a little while. I took them out for about an hour before their nap time. When Hubby got home, we ate supper, the kids woke-up from nap, Sissy ate supper, then we took the kids back outside to play.

(My little man loves being outside)

(Bubba playing with leaves)

(I love, love, LOVE, this picture of Sissy!!)

(Another cute picture of my pretty girl!)
(After many pics of trying to get them to look at the camera at the same time, I finally got one of them actually smiling at the SAME time!!)
*
Hubby is on vacation starting tomorrow and we have been trying to think of either a project or two to do, or some place to get away for a little while. We would like to go some place, maybe out in the mountains to my grandparent's cabin, but with there only being a generator out there, doubt we will be able to stay very long with the kiddos.

*

Maybe we'll think of something before he has to start back to work...

Girlie Girl?!?!

I have come to learn that Sissy is SUCH a girlie girl. I used to think otherwise hope that she wouldn't become one, but she has totally turned into a full blown girlie girl.
*
Not one that likes to just dress up and such, which she does do, but one that freaks out if she gets dirty. If she is eating something messy and it gets on her hands, she starts shaking them, crying wanting a towel.
*
Now it's gotten so bad that when Bubba, who has acid reflux, spits up, she starts freaking out...and just started coughing like she is going to throw-up when he does it. Tonight he spit up and stuck his hand in it before Hubby or myself noticed, and she started screaming and crying like there was a huge bug after her. LOL
*
It's quite funny, but sad. I am NOT a girlie girl. I AM more of one than I was in school, but not that bad! I mean, my favorite color is pink, I love purses, and cute clothes, but I don't do my make-up but once a week-for church, I do NOT like wearing dresses, and my hair is almost always in a ponytail.
*
Maybe that just makes me lazy, or out of style, I don't know. I just know that I have no idea where she gets it!! LOL

Our project

We Hubby decided to redo the kids/guest bathroom. It was frogs and such but we decided to do it in Razorbacks...WHOO PIG SOOIE!!

*

As usual, I forgot to take pictures of the bathroom before when it was all frogs, but you really wouldn't want to see them. It was pretty dirty and I was going to clean it real good, take pictures, then redecorate it, but it was easier to clean and take all the frog stuff out at the same time.

*

We needed some type of decor in there. I had an old corkboard, and decided to cover it and turn it into a picture ribbon board. I got some Razorback fabric and ribbon and got ready to get to work.

*

Now I could tell you how I did this ALL.BY.MY.SELF....but I didn't. In fact, I did do ANYTHING on it. Well, except hold the ribbon in place while Hubby was putting the pins in it. I did plan on doing it, ALL OF IT, but as soon as I started it, Hubby came over and told me I was doing it wrong and stared helping me. Needless to say, I apparently couldn't do any of it right, because he did it all.

*

I told him an hour into it that I would have been done by then. He laughed and told me that I wouldn't have done it right then. I totally agree with him. In fact I was going to do the ribbons by myself, but I didn't measure them when I cut them and winded up having to take 2...yes 2...more trips to Wal-Mart to pick-up more ribbon. He measured everything done to the cm and it looks soooo much better than I would have made it.

*

That just justifies the fact that even though I have creative ideas, I can NOT seem to follow thru with them. I have to admit though, even though it was supposed to be my project...Hubby did an awesome job on it. And I loved spending some quality time with him!!

Sopapilla Cheesecake.....YUMMO!!!

Okay so if you aren't a follower of my recipe blog, which you should be *hint hint*, I just added this INCREDIBLE recipe for Sopapilla Cheesecake. Now, I could add it here, but what kinda of exposure would that give my other blog. So I will only post a link to it. Also while there, check out the other recipe blogs that I follow. These girls have some awesome recipes! Alright you guys, go check it out.....Recipes on a Budget!

Death, sickness, and today!

Well unlike last week, this week as been hectic, and tragic. Last Saturday, a dear friend of the family passed away from cancer. He was a long-time member of the church my family and I had been members of before leaving and joining DABC.
*
Monday afternoon, my great-aunt, MR, lost her life in a horrible car accident. The driver of the other car may have either had a heart attack or blacked out, swerved into the other lane, and hit MR head-on. The state troopers actually told her daughter that she was passing a school bus, in a double lane, and if she had not been at that exact spot, at that exact time, that car would have hit the bus....full of kids!
*
Friday morning was the funeral for MR. I had gotten really close to her when I had worked at the pharmacy. She would come in and I would ask if she was behaving. She would always tell me she was trying but that it was hard...seeing as what her last name was! LOL...The preacher made a comment during her service about how he made a comment to her and my other great-aunt, ME at church the previous Sunday about, "the two troublemakers". He said that ME looked surprised at his comment, but that MR just laughed at him. He then apologized to ME during the funeral that she was just guilty by association!! AMEN!!! LOL
*
Friday night we went to my U. C and A. B's house for dinner with the family. It was actually a wonderful meal and visit. We all knew that MR is in better place now, and as one of my cousins had mentioned before, "She would not come back to this place for anything!!"
*
My U. C and A. B's house is magnificent!! I was running out the door when we left the house, and didn't realize it until we pulled up to this GORGEOUS house that I forgot my camera! So sorry guys, no pics today. Maybe next time we visit them, I'll remember it.
*
Saturday was pretty calm. It was cold and we had a little snow flurries, so we stayed in the house as much as possible. The only thing we got out for was my last minute called Nursery Committee meeting.
*
Today, Sunday, we got up early to go to the early morning service at church. Right before heading out the door, Sissy threw-up. She has been sick with runny nose and drainage and when that happens, it usually ends up in her going thru a vomiting episode. I guess it just irritates her stomach so much that it makes her sick. She still wanted to go to church with me instead of staying home with dad, so I took her. Well, about 45 minutes into service, about 20 minutes into preaching, someone had come to get me. She said that Sissy threw-up again.
*
So I grabbed my cousin, K, that helps me out a lot....THANKS GIRL!!....and we went and got Sissy and Bubba so that I could bring them home. Since we have been home, Sissy has gotten sick 3 more times, but as usual, it's just mucous stuff. I wonder if there is anything we can actually do for her....
*
Tonight, we have Hubby's dad's birthday dinner. His birthday is tomorrow, but he is working out of town, about 3 hours away, and won't be here. Tonight is also our church's first Small Groups' meeting, and I will have to miss it. I am so excited about Small Groups, Hope Group Ministries, and can't wait to be able to attend!!!!
